Dive into the electrifying world of Shakespeare's timeless masterpiece, helmed by Jessica Carmichael (Stratford, Shaw, Blyth) with a fantastic ensemble of players. Set amidst the tumultuous backdrop of political intrigue and familial betrayal, this iconic tale follows the tormented Prince of Denmark as he grapples with existential questions of life, death, and revenge.

Frank Cox-O'Connell

Frank Cox-O’Connell is an award-winning theatre director and actor from Toronto. He has performed in over 50 productions including Hamlet (Canadian Stage), Spoon River (Soulpepper) and Hand To God (Coal Mine) and is a regular collaborator with Soulpepper Theatre and the experimental performance group Public Recordings. He is a graduate of the Soulpepper Academy, The National Theatre School of Canada and the great arts programs of the Toronto District School Board.

 

Rush Tickets
  • Tickets for Dream in High Park are general admission seating.
  • Gates will open to ticketholders 2 hours prior to each performance.
  • The Box Office for in-person Rush will open 30 minutes before each performance, allowing patrons to purchase Rush tickets to that night's performance, subject to availability.
  • You may purchase in-person Rush tickets by tapping a card/phone or by cash payment. There is no minimum cash payment, but our suggested donation is $20 per person.
  • Rush tickets are also available online starting at 12:00pm on the day of the performance, with a minimum donation of $15.
  • Rush tickets have the same Pay-What-You-Can pricing as always. We’ve made accessing Rush PWYC tickets more convenient by adding online availability. Those who buy their tickets online can skip the in-person Rush line, allowing more time to claim your seats and enjoy the beautiful site!

Fast Facts
  • Most seating is on the grass; blankets and pillows are welcome. Limited accessible seating is also available (contacting the box office is recommended)
  • Low-to-ground lawn chairs are available to rent
  • A bike rack is available right outside the venue where you may lock your bikes. Bicycles are not allowed inside the venue.
  • Except service animals, pets are not allowed in the High Park Amphitheatre, excepting our ‘Dog Day’ on Aug 21
  • No open flame, alcohol, or smoking allowed inside the amphitheatre 
  • Audience members are welcome to bring along picnics, snacks, or enjoy concessions on site.
  • Sunday evening performances are now at 7:00pm
  • The production is appropriate for adults and kids of all ages
  • Patrons may bring their own lawn chairs (Only low-profile chairs are allowed in the main seating area. Anything more than 2" off the ground must be used at the back of the amphitheatre)

In the event of rain or severe weather during the show, Canadian Stage may delay, pause, or cancel the performance. Please note: we very rarely make rain cancellations prior to 8pm.

We are thrilled to offer backstage tours of the High Park Amphitheatre at 6:30pm prior to Tuesday evening performances of Hamlet starting July 30th. Backstage tours are only open to ticketholders of that evening's performance. Patrons wishing to attend the backstage tour must present their tickets for that evening's performance of Hamlet. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration is available on the ticket purchasing page.
