Canadian Stage is grateful for the ongoing support of our dedicated volunteers.
Throughout our season, starting with our outdoor performances at Dream in High Park at the High Park Amphitheatre, to our 26.27 indoor season, that runs from Fall 2026 to May 2027. We mainly require volunteers for performances at our homebase, 26 Berkeley, but sometimes throughout the year we will require further assistance from volunteers at our off-site venues such as the Bluma Appel Theatre or The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre.
At Canadian Stage we seek volunteers who share our core values - empathy, excellence, collaboration, respect and enthusiasm. Our volunteers are from all walks of life, some with theatre backgrounds, some taking their first steps inside a theatre. We value the diversity of people and communities we serve and are committed to equity and inclusion in all our operations.
Volunteers are required to register for at least 15 hours (5 shifts at 3 hours/shift) throughout the season. We also sign forms for high school volunteer requirements.
Volunteer roles include:
-
Ushers & Ticket Scanners: Greeting audience members prior to performances at the scanning their tickets, helping audience members find their seats, and giving audience members assistance throughout their experience at Canadian Stage.
-
If you love being outdoors and working in the sun, we will have shifts available as Ushers & Ticket Scanners at the High Park Amphitheatre. We will posting for volunteers for Dream in High Park in June.
