Leaving a legacy gift makes a lasting and vital impact on the performing arts, honours your love of theatre, and demonstrates your loyalty to Canadian Stage. It ensures that Canadian Stage continues to spark human connection through the art of live theatre for generations to come.
Bequests (Gifts by will)
You can include a gift in your will for a specific dollar amount, percentage, or share of an estate. Your estate receives a tax receipt for your gift, which can reduce taxes owing.
Sample bequest wording:
“To pay to Canadian Stage ___% of the residue of my estate [or the sum of $____________.] This gift is to be used for such purposes and designs as deemed appropriate by Canadian Stage.
If you wish, you may designate your gift to a specific project or program, such as Artistic Excellence, Education & Community Outreach, or New Play Development.
Please note that if, at any time, all or part of the income of the fund cannot be usefully applied to the designated purpose, Canadian Stage trustees shall determine an alternative purpose closest to the designated purpose. Please include this disclaimer in your Will.
